Statement of FaithWe believe in the plenary, verbal inspiration of the Old and New Testaments, and that they are of supreme and final authority to man.
We believe in the existence of one God, eternally, in the persons of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and in the creation of the universe and man by the direct act of God. We believe in the deity, incarnation, and virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, His identification as the Son of God, His substitutionary death for the sins of mankind by the shedding of His blood upon the cross, the resurrection of His body from the grave, His ascension into Heaven, and His personal coming to earth again. We believe that men are saved by repentance of their sins and personal faith in the vicarious atonement of Jesus Christ as the sole and sufficient ground of man’s acceptance by God. We believe that through the new birth, accomplished by the Holy Spirit in response to faith, men become children of God and can know His presence, guidance, and blessing in this life. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the unsaved and saved, and in the everlasting punishment of the lost and the everlasting blessedness of the redeemed. PhilosophyThe educational philosophy of Emmanuel Christian School is Christ centered. Not only is the Word of God taught daily in each class, but since that Word is man’s only source of absolute truth, all other subjects are approached in the light shed upon them by the Scriptures.
Through the ministry of Christian teachers, biblical standards of Christian living, spiritual and moral values and a practical philosophy of life pervade the atmosphere of the classroom by example as well as precept. The only alternative to distinctively Christian education is that which is materialistic and secularized, evolutionary throughout, humanistic (defies man), godless (God is simply left as irrelevant or unnecessary), immoral (situation ethics), devoid of truth (all truth is considered to be relative), and entrenched in a temporal, worldly, and altogether inadequate philosophy of life. For a Christian parent seeking to obey the scriptural injunction to train up a child in a way he should go (Proverbs 22:6), such an educational program is entirely unacceptable. He knows that life for the Christian cannot be separated into the secular and the sacred. His children must be prepared for more than making a living; they must be prepared to make a life! |
Core ValuesChrist is to be at the center of all that we do at Emmanuel Christian School including academics, devotion, discipline, and extracurricular activities.
The Bible is taught as the Word of God that has the power to transform the heart, mind, and soul through the aid of the Holy Spirit. We realize that parents have the responsibility to educate their children and as a result we are their agents in education. Salvation is found in Christ alone through faith alone because He is the only Way, the Truth, and the Life. We seek to provide a challenging academic program that will develop the mind to love the Lord God. We are an inter-denominational school and our students come from a multitude of denominational backgrounds. We are not under the authority of a single church or denomination and as a result we provide an environment where students can learn from various denominations and learn to work within the whole body of Christ. MissionThe mission of Emmanuel Christian School is to provide a Christ-centered, quality education so that all students have the opportunity to develop spiritually, physically, socially, and emotionally as they receive and apply the skills and encouragement needed to be effective leaders and witnesses for Christ today, tomorrow, and for eternity.
Emmanuel Christian School will assist the home in training young people to be God’s ambassadors through their leadership in the generations to come. |
