Spanish

Students in grades 1-5 have Spanish classes once a week. They learn about Mexican culture, geography, and holidays. They also learn the Spanish language, including the alphabet and vocabulary. Students participate in individual and group projects that help them learn Spanish. Music is also used as a way to learn vocabulary and common phrases in the Spanish language. The students read a Bible story in Spanish each week to reinforce the vocabulary they are learning. Some areas that are covered include greetings, days of the week, months of the year, numbers, colors, family, food, animals, sports, shapes, questions words, opposite words, transportation, places, body parts and clothing. Our goal is to provide each student with a foundation for the future study of Spanish.
