Missions

Emmanuel Christian School takes pride in its missions program.  The missions program is a young program at Emmanuel.  The school has participated in many missions in the Wiregrass area for years, but has recently formed a missions group that takes the gospel into a dark world.  The missions that the school is involved with through the year are with the Wiregrass Hope Group, Salvation Army, Columbia Baptist Association, Letters to Soldiers, and World Vision Children's Fund.  In 2007 a group was formed for ninth through twelfth grade students called  Six Steps.  The purpose of this group was to go out and spread the gospel in and outside of the United States.

The first trip was in October 2007 to New York City, NY.  The school sent two teachers and a group of high school students to the city of New York to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Through generous donations from families in the school and local businesses, we were able to transport and distribute 2,000 Bibles and tracks to the people of New York.  This gave the students an opportunity to put their faith in action.  The students were excited before they left and even more so when they came back, just waiting for their next opportunity to go.  The group has plans to take a mission trip in the Summer of 2010 to China. We have been invited by a sister ACSI school for a two week stay. We look forward to working with a fellow school. The group is also planning to continue the Operation Christmas Child campaign that was started at the school in 2008. We are just watching God do great things through our students.
